Van Landingham, at the time of his assistantship, was a first-year graduate student in the UW Department of Sociology.  His WRP-funded assistantship for the 2017-2018 academic year, with Theodore Gerber as supervisor, examined issues of historical memory regarding the Soviet period in contemporary Russia.
